The Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast Announces its Annual
Speaker Event Featuring Joe Ehrman, Community Leader and Former Professional Football
Player and Tim Borland of Race for Life
This Years Prayer Breakfast,
Finding Meaning and Purpose in Life is set for March 31, 2010 at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel, Palo Alto
Palo Alto, Calif., March 1,
2010 The Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast (SVPB)
today announced that its 2010 speaker event will be held Wednesday, March 31,
2010. The breakfast
provides a comfortable opportunity for people of all levels of faith to hear successful
leaders give testimony to the power of faith and prayer as vital elements of a
meaningful and vibrant life. Organized by volunteers, the breakfast event is in
its sixteenth year. Attendees come primarily from the business, medical and
educational communities of Silicon Valley, and are anticipated to total nearly 350
people.
This years keynote speakers will be
Joe Ehrmann, former Colts football player and presently coach and community
leader, and Tim Borland, president of Race for Good. Both will speak on Finding Meaning and Purpose in Life drawing
from their personal experiences and commitment to making a difference to enrich
the lives of others. In addition, several
other well known Silicon Valley government and business leaders will be
participating. The event takes place on Wednesday, March 31 from 7:00 to 8:30
AM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Palo Alto, 4290 El Camino Real.
SVPB steering committee

at this years event to learn about how they are using their talents and
abilities to influence their communities and advocate for those in need. This
event promises to be one of the best ever and offers encouragement, inspiration
and opportunities to network for those who attend.
Joe Ehrmann, Former Professional Football Player, Coach and Community
Leader
Joe Ehrmann played professional
football for the Colts for thirteen years and was named Colts Man of the Year.
Parade Magazine named Joe the Most Important Coach in America due to
his tireless efforts to change the culture of sports. Joe was named one of the
100 Most Influential Sports Educators in America by the Institute for
International Sports; he is also the subject of the New York Times bestseller Season
of Life by Jeffrey Marx. In addition to several other awards recognizing
Joes commitment to the community, he was the recipient of the National
Fatherhood Initiatives Man of the Year Award to honor his work to improve the
wellbeing of children by helping fathers become more responsible to their families.
Joe and his wife Paula, a
psychotherapist, co-founded Building Men and Women for Others to help every
man, woman and child reach his or her potential. The Ehrmanns also co-founded
The Door, an inner-city, community-based ministry that addresses issues of
poverty, systemic racism and social justice. Joe and Paula have been married
for over 30 years, have four children and live in Baltimore, Maryland.
Tim Borland, President, Race for Good
With a vision to change the world
for disenfranchised children, Tim leads Race for Good in their mission to
mobilize people and transform lives by connecting individuals to causes through
a network of fitness-driven programs and events. His life mission is to
advocate for children in need by using his gift in endurance running. Tim began
this adventure in the fall of 2007, when he ran 63 marathons (26.2 miles) in 63
consecutive days in 63 different communities to aid the work of the A-T
Childrens Project in their fight for a cure to a fatal childrens disease
called Ataxia Telangiectasia. Ataxia Telangiectasia is a childhood neurological
disorder that causes degeneration in the part of the brain that controls motor
movements and speech. Tim and his wife, Michelle, have three children and live
in the Bay Area.

The
Silicon Valley Prayer
Breakfast is in its sixteenth year. It is an event organized by
volunteers to feature speakers with inspiring Christian testimonies. It is
neither a fund raiser nor associated with any particular church or
denomination. The event is designed to introduce faith and prayer as vital
elements of a meaningful and vibrant life.
The
cost of the event is $35 per person or $350 for a table of 10. Reservations and
